چکیده

This ex situ electrochemical study investigates how the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) on Bi-doped Ca2Ru2O7 pyrochlore catalysts is affected by the addition of carbonate to the aqueous KOH (1 mol dm ) electrolyte. The parent Ca2Ru2O7 catalyst has been previously reported to be selective towards the generation of CO3 2– on the reaction of O2 with CO2 (in the presence of H2O) at the cathode of low temperature alkaline polymer electrolyte fuel cells containing alkaline anion-exchange membranes 10

High-temperature Fuel Cells

The molten carbonate fuel cell operates at approximately 650 °C (1200 °F). The high operating temperature is needed to achieve sufficient conductivity of the carbonate electrolyte, yet allow the use of low-cost metal cell components. A benefit associated with this high temperature is that noble metal catalysts are not required for the cell electrochemical oxidation and reduction processes. Molt...

La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 perovskite cathode for Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells: A comparative study

In this study the characteristics of two different kinds of La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3 (LSCF) powders, one in-house synthesized powder by a co-precipitation method and another one purchased from Fuel Cell Materials Co. (FCM Co., USA), were compared. The co-precipitated powder was prepared by using ammonium carbonate as precipitant with a NH4+/NO3- molar ratio of 2 and calcination at 1000C for 1 h....

A carbon dioxide tolerant aqueous-electrolyte-free anion-exchange membrane alkaline fuel cell.

Despite over a century of study and decades of intensive research, few fuel cell products have appeared on the market. The major inhibitor to mass commercialisation is cost. H2/air alkaline fuel cells (AFCs) containing KOH(aq) electrolyte promise the lowest cost devices, with the ability to use non-Pt catalysts. The fundamental problem with AFCs is that the KOH(aq) electrolyte reacts with CO2 (...

Sintering Behavior of Porous Nanostructured Sr-Doped Lanthanum Manganite as SOFC Cathode Material

The fuel cells are distinguished as generating of green allocable energy and are electrochemical devices of low environmental impact. Porous nanocrystalline strontium-doped lanthanum manganite La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 (LSM) cathode materials were prepared by mechanochemical route in various grinding times. Carbon black was employed to produce pores. The formation of LSM single phase was studied by X-ray ...
